Add the crocheted table cloth to your crochet repetoire.

Every room has a table, be it the dining room, the kitchen, the living room or your master bed room. You need tables where you can dine or the small corner tables where you can keep your coffee while you read the papers. Keeping a table in a room is as necessary as having a window in a room. You can add decorto your room by covering your tables with beautiful crochet tablecloths.

Crochet tablecloths come in various designs depending on the size and shape of the table. A crochet table cloth is perhaps the simplest of sewing projects and is perfect for the beginning seamstress. It can be an easy and inexpensive way to decorate your room. Simply changing the crochet table cloth can change the whole look of your room. You can go all bright and flowery during summers and use Christmas patterns during the festive season. Get creative!

Instruction to knit a Crochet table cloth:

Here are the stepwise instructions on how to knit a simple square crochet tablecloth:
Size: 44" X 44"
Materials: Knitting Worsted, 4-oz. skeins, 10 each of colors A and B; 1 of C for border. Size F crochet hook.
Gauge: Motif measures 4" by 4". If necessary, change the size of hook until given measurement is obtained.
Note: You can change the color sequence on some motifs; or make a few in solid color for interest.

Rnd 1: With A, ch. 2. Work 15 dc into ring, join with slip st.
Rnd 2: With A, (ch 2, 1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into first st, skip one st, * (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into next st, skip one st; repeat from * 6 times, join with slip st.
Rnd 3: With B, (ch 2, 1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into first ch sp, * 1 dc between 4 dc groups, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) into next ch sp; repeat from * 7 times, 1 dc between last 4 dc group; join with slip st.
Rnd 4: With B, work 1 sc in each dc and ch. End off.
Finishing: Weave motifs together, having 11 across each row and 11 rows in all. Work one row of sc around all edges, working 3 sc in each corner st. Press lightly.

Sizing the table cloth:

Your crochet tablecloth should always be bigger in size as that to the size of the table. For example, if your table is 4 feet by 4 feet you will need a table cloth which is 5 ft 3 in length and 4 ft 3 in width. You should be choosy about the fabric as some materials are stretchy and you won't want your tablecloth to look shabby and worn-out after one wash.

You can always bring refinement to your simple work of art by using creativity. You can give your crochet tablecloth a beautiful vintage look by adding frills to it or you can perk it up by sewing little bows or ribbons or beautiful delicate laces. You can make several more decorative crochet tablecloths as you advance yourself in the art of 'Crochet'. You just have to choose the appropriate fabric. Knit beautiful crochet tablecloths of different designs like stars, butterflies, or flowers and bring a wonderful, festive flair to your tables, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.

Adding tassels will enhance the elegant look of your crochet tablecloth. So start your work today and show people your talented skills and mesmerize them with the reverie beauties of Eden. Inspire someone today!!!
