The history and uses of the embroidery sewing machine is quite interesting.

A sewing machine is a mechanical (or electromechanical) device that joins fabricusing thread. Embroidery sewing machine like many other inventions of last 300years has lessend the work by naked handsand speeded up the process of emboridary.

History of Embroidary Sewing machine:

Thomas Stone and James Henderson were granted a French patent in 1804 for a machine that emulated hand sewing. That same year a patent was granted to Scott John Duncan for an embroidery sewing machine with multiple needles. The machines of all three men were unsuccessful. In 1860, Isaak Groebli combined previous hand looming techniques with existing sewing machine technology to create the first embroidery sewing machine.

In 1911 Singer Sewing Company developed the first multi-head embroidery sewing machine with six heads and a pantograph attachment. Then in 1950s more advancement was introduced and computers yet again revolutionized it.

During one decade, advancements in the sale of licensing rights and mass-merchandising opened up the market for factory-based embroidered items. Today embroidery sewing machines are used every day worldwide, some with up to thirty different heads, though most jobs require only the smaller machines. Industrial sewing machines were created to simplify and speed up the otherwise labor-intensive hand stitching.

Embroidary Sewing machine:

In machine embroidery you can use sewing machine to create stitch patterns, by setting the motifs or personal designs on cloth. All lovely sweatshirts that you so admire with stitched motifs use the process of machine embroidery.

This is usually done by lifting the top tension foot of the machine, although sewing machines can come equipped with specific embroidery feet. These days people purchase specific embroidery sewing machines which can follow computerized design patterns, and re-create them on the backing cloth.

In order to get a great finish on machine embroidery project, the fabric must be held in tension in the same way that hand embroidery is held.

Working on an Embroidary Sewing machine:

A Hoop is the simplest method and some machines even come with hoops to use. In order to allow the free movement of the fabric over the dog teeth (the teeth that move the fabric back as you are carrying out normal straight stitching), disengage them. This will allow you to make tiny circular movements and will also prevent the machine from making linear stitches.

It can be used in a myriad of ways and altering the tension of the thread as it runs through the machine can have a variety of effects, as can altering the weight of one or other of the threads. It is often better to uses a heavier thread in the bobbin, as the needle tends to designate how thick the top thread can be. There are no rules in machine embroidery and thus anything can be put through the machine providing it won't break the machine!

Embroidery sewing machine can be used in a variety of ways. Individual artwork can be created, and the machine stitches manipulated to form a variety of styles, or it can simply be used to take the place of traditional handcrafted monogram.

When you use advanced embroidery sewing machines, you will find single or multi-heads for different spools of thread and they are as easy to use in large garment factory as at home. Many machine-embroidered items are created in small home-based businesses with affordable, easy-to-use, computer-operated embroidery sewing machines that do not require a lot of room. Specialized attachments allow for embroidery to be added to a variety of pre-manufactured products and fabrics, as well as the addition of sequins and other fancy enhancements.

It takes practice and time to become a skilled embroidery sewing machine embroiderer.the only thing if you use the machine is that you cant use when you are travelling.

There are often many courses or evening classes available to aid competence, and allow people to enjoy using their sewing machines in this unique way.
